Wiring: 48 V IntelligentDC loudspeakers
Note
Refer to your loudspeaker's operating instructions for information about loudspeaker connector pin outs; available cables, cable accessories, and bulk cable; and custom cable assembly.
TipTo achieve longer runs for loudspeaker cables, use two separate cables: a large gauge, two-conductor cable for DC power (shown in grey), and a three-conductor cable for balanced audio (shown in purple/black), both attached to a single Phoenix connector on each cable end.
WarningWhen powering HMS-15 loudspeakers, two separate composite cables connected to an MPS-488HP channel output pair (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, or 7-8) are required. Identical audio signals can be sent to the two inputs with no additional gain and no adverse effects. However, do not use a single cable to deliver power to the HMS-15's two input connectors. Never, in any manner, combine the power sources from two MPS-488HP channel outputs, either at the power supply (origination) or the loudspeaker (destination). Refer to ???. |

Note
Loudspeakers equipped with an EN3 connector include a 10-foot EN3-to-pigtail cable that can be spliced to a junction box (as shown below) near the loudspeaker that receives a longer cable from the MPS-488HP power supply. Loudspeakers equipped with a Phoenix or ECO-M connector include an appropriate cable mount connector for constructing loudspeaker cables.
