Release Notes: Firmware — GEN-1 input module: Type 3P
Software compatibility
Version 1.2.0 of the Type 3P input module firmware is compatible with Nebra software version 2.0.21.
What's new
This bug-fix release addresses issues related to recently implemented functions.
Firmware Update Steps
Type 3P input modules include the recently introduced GEN-1 technology.
Performing this firmware update will reset the module to the factory default settings, including the user-controlled DSP.
Connect the loudspeakers with Type 3P input modules to a computer running Nebra software version 2.0.21.
In Nebra, select Devices from the left panel, right-click the loudspeaker(s) with Type 3P modules, and select Firmware Update.
When completed, right-click the loudspeaker(s) again and select Reboot device to factory default.
Power cycle the loudspeaker(s).
Bug fixes
Analog is now the default input source
Milan AVB digital audio input now behaves as expected when the media clock of a Type 3P module is set to Internal
Added support for 9 and 10-channel AES67 streams
Fixed error reporting issues related to ULTRA-X40 family and USW-210P
Fixed display of Remote Product Monitoring driver data for ULTRA-X40 and ULTRA-X80 model families, now lists HF, LF-t, LF-b (high frequency, low frequency top, low frequency bottom)
ASTRYA-140 no longer reports power level warnings too early
Removed unsupported L16 and L32 format options from AES67 RTP Data Format selection
Entering an unexpected loudspeaker name no longer causes a non-recoverable error
Changing the Grand Master designation no longer requires power cycling loudspeakers
Fixed USW-210P labeling
Fixed sporadic reports of error 106
At startup, erroneous error reporting fixed
Processing input meter no longer displays erroneous full-scale levels at startup or during some error conditions
Fixed miscellaneous issues related to data displayed for specific loudspeaker models
Changed order of error statuses to match Type 3M (MEP) modules
Known issues
If the Type 3P (GEN-1) module is configured for static IP addressing and no gateway is specified, or 0.0.0.0 is specified, local networking should function properly
If the Type 3P module is configured for DHCP addressing and the DHCP server does not provide a gateway address, local networking should function properly
Some languages entered in text fields that rely on multi-byte UTF characters may not be supported
Milan AVB stream connections are possible but not recommended as connectivity testing has not been completed. Nebra will enable RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) reception when it configures the Type 3P module, disabling the Milan AVB input source.
The Milan AVB input is not intended to be utilized with this firmware release except for testing. To make a Milan AVB connection to a Type 3P module, connect a Milan AVB stream/channel to the Type 3P module’s Input 1 input and disable RTP Reception using an AVDECC controller like MSCM or Hive.
Software compatibility
Version 1.1.1 of the Type 3P input module firmware is compatible with Nebra software version 2.0.21.
Bug fixes
Factory reset is not required when updating firmware from 1.0.0 to 1.1.1
Fixed issue related to initialization of ASRC’s that could manifest as a RTP stream unlock/lock loop
Fixed file system mounting issue during startup
Known issues
Changing the designated Grand Master may require power-cycling the loudspeaker(s) equipped with Type 3P input modules for the Grand Master to be updated correctly.
DSP setting changes do not fade - there is a momentary mute/unmute when settings are changed
Some Type 3P module error and warning conditions are not reporting
Type 3P module circuit board hardware revisions and unregulated supply voltages are not reported
Support for the L16 format of AES67 has not been implemented, the L24 format is supported
Atmospheric Correction controls (gain factor, distance) have not been implemented
Milan AVB stream connections are possible but not recommended as connectivity testing has not been completed. Nebra will enable RTP reception when it configures the Type 3P module, disabling the Milan AVB input source.
The Milan AVB input is not intended to be utilized with this firmware release except for testing. To make a Milan AVB connection to a Type 3P module, connect a Milan AVB stream/channel to the Type 3P module’s Input 1 input and disable RTP Reception using an AVDECC controller like Hive.
Software compatibility
Version 1.1.0 of the Type 3P input module firmware is compatible with Nebra software version 2.0.21.
What's new
This firmware release adds support for the new USW-121P, enables AES67 input (including from: Dolby CP950 cinema processor, Qsys Core Nano, BSS Blu-806, other AES67 transmitters), and expands error and warning reporting.
Firmware update procedure
Type 3P input modules include the recently introduced GEN-1 technology. To enable GEN-1 functionality, update the Type 3P input firmware to version 1.1.0.
Note
Performing this firmware update will set all the control point values and other settings of the Type 3P input module to the factory defaults.
Connect the loudspeakers with Type 3P input modules to a computer running Nebra software version 2.0.21.
In Nebra, select Devices from the left panel, right-click the loudspeaker(s) with Type 3P modules, and then select Firmware Update.
When completed, right-click the loudspeaker(s) again and select Reboot device to factory default.
Power cycle the loudspeaker(s).
