Procedure. To assemble the mic isolator, refer to the figure above and follow these instructions:
  1. Choose the position on the microphone cable to install the isolator.

It should be as far above the microphone as possible. Make sure that nothing else touches the microphone cable below the top weight of the isolator.

  2. Place the signal cable in the indentation of one the weights.

  3. Pass a zip tie through the slot in the weight and tighten it down onto the cable.

The notch in the weight may be used to hide the head of the zip tie.

  4. Place the microphone cable in the trough of the other weight.

There must be at least a 1.5 inch (38 mm) radius in the microphone cable when the isolator is hanging straight down.

  5. Pass a zip tie through the slot in the weight and tighten it down onto the cable.

The notch in the weight may be used to hide the head of the zip tie.

Note

For permanent installations that require compliance with fire safety standards, use aircraft cable to secure the mic isolator. Loop air craft cable through the slot of each weight and attach the aircraft cable to the building structure.
